BoatExec gives you two primary views over its extensive capabilities. One view is organized as a Captain's Log that provides you with easy access to functions that you will use when you are cruising. The other view is organized as a Maintenance Log that provides you with easy access to the functions you will use when you are maintaining your vessel. Both views use the same database, so all information entered in one is available to the other. They are organized with a toolbar at the top, and row of major section tabs running across the window just below. The Captain's View starts with the Trip Log displayed and the Maintenance View starts with a list of the items on your to-do list. If a major section has subsections, you reach them by using the tabs at the right side of the window. All BoatExec windows are organized in this simple way. The Captain's Log view starts with the window shown below delivers the capabilities that you might use when underway. The font size is large and easy to read, the buttons are large and easy to click when you are in motion. The toolbar provides you access to capabilities you are likely to use at the dock or anchor. See further below for the Maintenance Log view.
The Maintenance Log view starts with the window shown below and delivers the capabilities that you might use when you are at a dock or in a yard. |
