| Trip LoggingBoatExec enables you to keep a fully detailed account of each trip or passage you make. It starts with the departure checklist that you create, then you can record motor readings, weather, narratives, fuel and water tank readings and at the end, you arrive using the arrival checklist you have created. You can then create reports on your trips and export them to a word processing file, print them or send them to friends. If you have a NMEA 183 GPS attached to your computer then, your position is automatically recorded. You also have a trip computer that records your speed and distance. BoatExec will also calculate your fuel utilization if you have taken fuel readings along the way and after you arrive. Note the status bar at the bottom of the form. It tells you how many scheduled or entered tasks are on your To-Do list. The red ball in the lower right corner indicates that GPS data is not present. If it was, then a green ball would be displayed. You can navigate directly to the details of each of these indicators just by clicking on them.
Note that BoatExec presents most of its capabilities using the same user interface design. The set of tabs across the top of the form allow you to navigate directly to major topics. When the major topic has additional levels of information a set tabs along the right hand side allow you to easily navigate to sub-sections. |
